About the Institute
The Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai is a unique Institute which was established on 1st October 1933 as a University Department of the Bombay University (UDCT), completing 89 years of glorious past. ICT has created its own brand over the years which has been recognized by several prestigious awards and accolades to the faculty, students, and alumni individually and also as an institute. Under the World Bank’s Technical Education Quality Improvement Program (TEQIP), ICT was granted full autonomous status in 2004 and declared as Deemed-to-be University on September 12, 2008, by the MHRD under Section 3 of the UGC Act of 1956. It was bestowed an Elite Status and Centre of Excellence on par with IITs, IISc, and IISERs in the State Assembly on April 20, 2012, by the Maharashtra Govt. based on its stellar performance on par with the institutes of national importance. The genesis of ICT Mumbai is truly educative and its achievements are inspirational.
On March 2018, ICT for the first times crossed the confines of Maharashtra when the institute inaugurated the “ICT Mumbai Indian Oil Odisha Campus” at Bhubaneswar on 18th March 2018, at the hands of the President of India, Honorable Shri. Ram Nath Kovind, in the august presence of Honorable Shri. S. C. Samir, Governor of Odisha, Honorable Shri. Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and distinguished bureaucrats, academicians, industry stalwarts, and citizens. The Institute has signed MOU with IIT Kharagpur for collaborating in various research activities. The foundation stone laying ceremony for the permanent campus was happened on 20th August 2021.
Our endeavour is not only to provide access to quality education and training but also to create an individual who can earn a sustainable livelihood.
Our vision and mandate is to develop a self-sustainable institution with sophisticated and high-end research facilities in the field of Chemical Technology and its allied branches and to produce well-trained engineers and extraordinary researchers.
The placement of students from the first batch of iMTech, Two Year MTech, and PhD scholars has also been progressing well in leading and globally renowned industries and academic institutions in India and abroad.
Fee Structure
The candidates to be admitted for the iMTech course during 2023-24 are required to pay fees as prescribed by the institute. The institutional fees to be paid by all the admitted candidates are as follows:
1. Library Deposit: Rs 2,000/-
2. Tuition fee: Rs 15,000/-
3. Development fee: Rs 39,850/-
4. Other fees: Rs 33,000/-
5. Student Diary: Rs 500/-
6. Alumni Association Fees (For 1st Year): Rs 1000/-
7. Analytical Ability Test: Rs 750/-
Total (Academic Year Fees): Rs 92,100/-**
**Note: contingency amount for students admitted under various fellowships will be as per the norms of respective sponsoring funding agencies. Research contingency of Rs. 12,000/- will be added in the fifth year of fees. Admission fees may vary and it will be informed at the time of admission.
